Christmas prep is a lot harder when you are so pregnant, and you know that you are going to have to clean it all up as well. And the thought of a tree terrifies me for two reasons: 1) Carter will pull all of the ornaments off to hold and look at them and inadvertently break them and 2) Tanner climbs everything and will climb the tree and knock it over at least once a day.
So we went back to the first year we were married and made our own tree. Tonight we decorated.
Carter was so excited to put the ornaments on the tree.
We started with the garland, then the star, then the candy canes.
I had to help him get to the high places.
"Take a picture of the tree, Dad."
Tanner getting in on the action.
Putting on the ornaments. Mom would put the glue on and then let Carter or Tanner put them on the tree (dad was there to help Tanner).
All decorated! Can you tell where Carter decorated? The spot at head level where tings are in a line and paired by color?
I am excited that we have a mantle to hang the stockings on. Just have to figure out how to get Tanner to stop tugging on mine. He just thinks they are so pretty.
I think the last thing to get out is the big Nativity to go on the mantle, but I have to finish clearing the mantle off first. Thing in progress now that we finally have all of our moving boxes unpacked.
